| Welcome to Sagala Lodge In the Sagala you not only have the single choice of “game drive only”, but also a large choice of alternative activities; - mountain walks in the Sagala Escarpment (this is an exciting excursion which takes you into the escarpment on a footpath winding up the hill through jungle type forest, past impressive rock formations and a small waterfall up to a viewing point called “the magic rock” from where you have a breathtaking view over the plains where you can relax upon a champagne breakfast or sundowner if you wish - or to visit the pittoreque historic Sagala Railway Station (the station manager will show you all around and explain how it works (which is still the same old traditional way since the railtracks were built) – and by the way it is here where the fa- mous “Maneaters of Tsavo” lions terrorised the railway workers after which story the book was written and the Hollywood film with Micheal Douglas was created) or enjoy bird watching from our roof top terrace or a guided bird watching safari by foot in the safe vicinity or see the world’s largest baobab tree (with a circumferance of 68 feet estimated to be over 500 years old) or relax at a romantic Out of Africa pic-nic at the observation hill or take part in a night drive with the lodge’s open Range Rover ... and ..., and .... |
