| For decades poachers were at large in the Ndara plains killing many thousends of animals with snares, poison, spears and guns. Today projects like the Sagala Game Sanctuary protect the wildlife and help to repopulate the area to a natural level. For this reason we are breeding indigenous spe-cies in our park which is fenced to protect the animals from poachers, lions and other hazzards. The older animals will find their way to the wild and the young animals are kept until they are strong enough to make their own way. The project is sponsored by the Sagala Lodge & Travel Trade Ltd. We are continuing to add more species as we are going along with the target to finally host a mixed population of indigenous animals that were once populating the plains in large numbers. |
