| Cruise to Manarani and Takaungu with M.V. Blue Liberty 1 day tour or 2 days with overnight aboard the Blue Liberty or in the romantic Seahorse Club A tour filled with excitement, discovery, blue skies, deep blue waters and magnificent sites. During the cruise and whilst you are sunbathing on the large sundecks, or whilst you are on watch for dolphins, mantas, turtles and whales, our crew will pamper you all the way. In Takaungu and Kilifi you will enjoy the historic sites, the tales, the snake farm, the beautiful lagoon, the Seafood BBQ,, the creek-safari and the romantic atmosphere of the Seahorse Club Programme Early morning you will be collected from your hotel and taken to the beautiful Mtwapa Creek. On arrival our cruise guide will welcome and guide you on board the M.V. Blue Liberty where you will be served with a welcome tea, coffee or refreshment drink. At this stage you can familiarise yourself with the various salons and sundecks of the ship and find yourself a comfortable place. As soon as "all are on board" the Blue Liberty sets off towards Kilifi. The route takes us through the narrow reef exit into the open sea. We will cruise 2-3 miles off shore to the North along the Kenyan Coast. During the cruise you can enjoy perfect sunbathing on one of the large sundecks or relax in one of the comfortable salons. We will be on watch for Dolphins, Turtles, Whale sharks and with a bit of luck Mantas too. You can also visit the Captain in the wheelhouse, he will be glad to explain you the ship, the course, the navigation equipment and many other interesting things. After two hours the Blue Liberty will reach the Kilifi Creek entrance and head inlands to the beautiful natural Kilifi harbour which at its end opens to a calm natural inland seawater bay. Weather permitting, we will however first take a turn to port and visit the pittoresque “Takaungu Creek” where we will anchor for an hour and take you ashore. This place is a historic “smuggler’s nest” where slaves and cloves from Zanzibar were traded in the old days In the Kilifi Bay we will drop our anchor in front of the romantic Seahorse Club and take you ashore where a nice “barefoot lunch” is already arranged for you. On the shore banks here, many ancient giant shark teeth have been found in the past (some of which were dated to be over 2 million years old and displayed on the shp). After a good brake (or a swim in the club’s pool) we will take you across the creek to visit the ancient Manarani Jungle Ruins and to the nearby small snake park. On return to the Club our day guest will leave for Mombasa by bus after a tea / coffee brake, where they will reach an hour later back at the hotel after an unforgettable day. Our overnight guest will be allocated their comfortable Bungalows at the Club or the ship, and at 5.00 p.m. we will take you on a creek safari by boat into the amazonas like waterways of the creek where you will see some rare birds returning for overnight in their mangrove hideaway and enjoy a spectacular sundowner (to take photos here is a must). In the evening we will serve you a romantic open air Seafood Dinner under the palms (included in the price) before the night rest. The next morning you will embark the Blue Liberty after breakfast for the return cruise and at Mtwapa Creek the Captain and his crew will bid farewell and your driver will take you back to your nearby hotel. |
